Didzis Vilcans

NCLA mission is to unite Latvian descendants in Northern California. In order to do that the Association:
- organizes cultural and social life,
- promotes Latvian language, history and education,
- promotes Latvian society and culture to both Latvian-speaking and non-Latvian people.

The Riga TechGirls mentorship program is based on a voluntary principle and aims to provide support and help to develop skills for women who work in the field of technology or have just started it.

Startup Wise Guys is a mentorship-driven accelerator program for early stage B2B startups, providing seed capital (€20K), office space and most importantly – world-class mentors.

Established a Latvian Young Professionals in Ireland group and monthly informal gatherings with the aim to provide networking and socializing opportunities.

Latvian Culture Day in Ireland 2014 with a theme of "Riga - The European Capital of Culture" offered a chance for anyone in the heart of Dublin to experience Latvian culture and traditions through nine creative zones. From exploring artisans and their crafts and learning more about Latvia and national traditions, to tasting foods by Latvian producers and enjoying Latvian song and dance performances - Culture Day was a great day out for everyone.

Latvian Culture Day in Ireland 2014 with a theme of "Riga - The European Capital of Culture" offered a chance for anyone in the heart of Dublin to experience Latvian culture and traditions through nine creative zones. From exploring artisans and their crafts and learning more about Latvia and national traditions, to tasting foods by Latvian producers and enjoying Latvian song and dance performances - Culture Day was a great day out for everyone.

I organized the zone "Riga Lives Green", promoting reuse of common household items and awareness about how to live more green, as well as co-hosted the opening and the closing ceremonies.

The event was organized with the support of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Dublin City Council, The Temple Bar Company, Latvian manufacturers, creative groups and local Latvian community. Show less

2nd Latvian Culture Days in Ireland were organised In anticipation of the XXV Latvian Nation-Wide Song and XV Dance Celebration to be held in Rīga and in cooperation with the Embassy of Latvia to Ireland, the Latvian Society in Ireland choir “eLVē”. It was an honor for me to co-host with Edite Muceniece the two day event.

It was my pleasure to co-host with Baiba Kalnina the fifth anniversary concert of Latvian Society in Ireland Choir eLVē.

Assisted in organization and created a graphic design for the poster of Latvian Independence Day event (150+ participants), created layout design for newspaper "Beļģijas Latviešu Ziņas".
